at FOSST

Are you interested in doing a board year at FOSST? Here you can find information about what positions are available and the exact functions of each.

FOSST is a part time board, and the main function of the board is to help and support all student sports associations, which we do through organizing certain events and financial aid. We are also the point of reference for active students in the Sports Center. We operate from a location surrounded by sports, our office in the university Sports Center!

What do we do?

Chairman

The main focus of the chairman is to have close contact with other boards, university and the Sports Center, while keeping the FOSST board operational. The chairman hosts board- and chairmen meetings, has contact with the head of the Sports Center and the rector Magnificus of the university and is involved with Student Sports Netherlands (SSN). Besides that, the chairman of FOSST represents the cluster 'sports' as a board member of TiGeAk. In the end, the focus of the chairman is to strive for improvement and growth of the student sport experience. Not only for the members of the SSA's, but for all ambitious sporting students.

Secretary & Vice-Chairman

As the secretary of FOSST you will be responsible for the mailbox and the minutes during meetings. You make sure that everything is documented correctly and manage the calendar. That way, your fellow board members will never miss any appointments! The secretary of FOSST assists the Sports Center with administrational tasks, and has a lot of contact with all the Student Sports Associations. Additionally, as the vice-chairman of the board, you will assist the chairman with various tasks and attend most meetings with the Sports Center, the associations, and Student Sports Netherlands. Furthermore, the position of the secretary is quite fluid. This gives you a lot of time to help other board members with their tasks.

Secretary

Treasurer

As the treasurer of FOSST you will be responsible for the financial side of the association. You will manage the budget and the bank account, and do the bookkeeping. Furthermore, you will financially assist the Student Sports Associations. FOSST is the umbrella association for all 24 Student Sports Associations in Tilburg and your main job is to financially support these associations, with the use of multiple forms of subsidy. You will have to help the associations as good as possible. Being involved with the financial matters of so many associations will teach you a lot about the job!

Events Manager

To promote and stimulate sports, FOSST organizes multiple events every year. Examples are our futsal tournament, Carnival Volleyball Tournament (CVT) and Racketlon. As the events manager you are responsible for the organization of these events. Being in the board of a sports umbrella has a lot of perks - you are welcome to organize almost any type of event, as long as it is sports related. The tasks consist of planning, meetings, supervision - a lot of social action and people management. It is the perfect opportunity to improve your social skills, build your network and become more organized.

Events Manager

Sports Manager

As the Sports Manager of FOSST you will assist the SSA's and other sporting students with problems they face. The associations can come to you for scheduling problems or general questions about the way things are organized at the Sports Center. For example, sports associations might need help with borrowing equipment or changing their training times. In January and February, the real fun starts. You will be responsible for 'Team Tilburg' at the Batavierenrace and GNSK. Your tasks are to promote the event and get people excited, to keep all SSA's informed and help during the event. These events are very exciting and a great learning opportunity.

PR Manager

As the PR Manager of FOSST, your main job is to manage and update the social media accounts of FOSST. You are in charge of making and designing promotion material for the events FOSST organizes, and helping the Sports Associations promote their trainings and events. To make sure that all events and associations are visible, online and on campus, you will be in close contact with the communications manager of the Sports Center. If you like social media, online communication and designing, this is the job for you!

PR Manager

Community Manager

As the Community Manager of FOSST, your primary duty is to oversee the well-being of our community. Your focus revolves around ensuring the community is well taken care of, maintaining regular communication with SSAs, and establishing a secure environment for feedback and discussions. One of your key responsibilities is sending out Monthly updates to all SSAs, ensuring everyone is up to date with important matters. This year the main focus of the Community Manager is organizing our Lustrum event. Additionally, you are here to collaborate with and advise other board members, when the help is needed.
